Further Underworld Updates - make Ice King and npc spirits invulnerable too!
Ok - ANet recently changed UW to prevent party-wipes due to reaper deaths after completing 10/10 quests. Great job!
HOWEVER, this issue is still not quite resolved, as the party can still wipe after completing 10/10 quests if either (a). the Ice King dies or (b). the npc spirits in the 'escort of souls' or 'imprisoned spirits' quests die.
So the problem ANet tried to fix by making the reapers invulnerable after completing 10/10 quests - is not entirely fixed.
This becomes very apparent if the last quest you complete is 'Servants of Grenth' in the Ice Wastes. Unlike other quests - (if this is the last one you complete) you can't just go to the Labrynth and get the end-chest when this quest completes - as the dryders will proceed to the Ice King and kill him - thus causing the party to be booted out of UW. This means that whoever is doing this quest can't get the end-chest until they kill off ALL the terrorwebs - in which time someone can either (a). go off and get the Ice King killed or (b). teleport to the Bone Pits and purposely kill the npc spirits there by the reaper - and thus cause the person still doing the Servants of Grenth quest to not get their end-chest reward. This seems completely wrong to me.
Or, if others in the group want to solo-farm after completing 10/10 quests, I still see folks intentionally either get the Ice King or the npc spirits killed, thus causing the rest of the group to be kicked out of the Underworld. Again - does this make sense?
ANet - please also make the Ice King and the npc-quest spirits invulnerable, too, after completing 10/10 quests in UW!

I'd much rather have it so you have to actually KILL the dryders for the quest to complete. As it is now, all you have to do is tank and survive them until the second group pops, then the quest resolves. If the reaper and ice king were to be invulnerable then, you'd be able to map away. thing is...the quest is specifically ABOUT protecting the ice king and the reaper. If you could tank 6 dryders, pop 6 more, then teleport away to get your UW end chest...it would be a cheap stupid quest.
If you didn't play with assholes who screw up other peoples' playing experiences, you wouldn't have these problems. Guild groups ftw.

Please read what I said.
First off, the Ice King (and the npc-quest spirits) would only become invulnerable AFTER 10/10 quests completed. The reapers already becomes invulnerable after 10/10 quests completed. Why not the Ice King and the npc-spirits too?

I've been on a 13 minute HM run - so yes very doable
Also I've seen screenies of an 11 minute run - and my guildies claim to have recently done a 10 minute record run!

It can be done that fast BUT it takes a lot more skill and coordination than VS runs do to pull it off.

Protecting the Ice King and the NPCs in "Escort of Souls" is a quest requirement. If they die, even after completion, you have failed to protect them, and you should not be rewarded.

Protecting the Wastes reaper is a requirement of the Ice King quest too! But he becomes invulnerable once 10/10 quests is completed.
Why? To prevent doobers from killing reapers and selfishly preventing other party members from getting end-chest rewards. The Ice King and the NPCs should be no different in this regard!

Still dont change the fact that stupid people will ruin your run and thereby wasting your time. Also, this wouldnt make the run easier in any way, nor make the achieved times any faster.

Not everyone can (or wants) to do UW just with guildies!

1: if ice wastes is the last quest, then again all you need to do is tank the dryders for 2 minutes then everything's invulnerable.. Run to collect quest reward under SF, port to vale, don't even need to kill webs. Don't see why you wouldn't...they drop ecto too.
Not a magical aura, just I only play with people I know.
If you don't like playing with people you know, be prepared for griefers.

huge issue with uw needs to be changed
ok so they changed uw so the reapers cant die after all 10 are complete , they wont die, but im still getting screwed outof the chest,
i want to make a poll for them to change it so none of the souls(vale nor pits) and ice king can not die once all 10 are done.
im sick of having me and friends not get chest becuz of a noob running off killing the ice king or pits
